Assembling a Low?volume Biofuel Cell on a Screen?printed Electrode for Glucose Sensing

An enzymatic biofuel cell is integrated on a screen-printed electrode as basis for self-powered biosensor. A glucose/O2 consisting of pyrroloquinoline quinone-dependent glucose dehydrogenase embedded within an Os-complex modified redox polymer bioanode to oxidize and non-limiting bilirubin oxidase-based gas diffusion biocathode in the direct-electron transfer regime reduction O2 showed glucose-dependent current power output. For full integration single electrode, miniaturized agar salt bridge was introduced between two bioelectrodes ensure operation assembly two-compartment configuration with each operating at optimal conditions.
